1736 Family Crisis Center was founded in 1972 and has since been responding to the growing needs of victims of domestic violence, runaway and homeless youth, homeless families, unemployed adults and youth and other low income community members in need of assistance.

Alexandria House was founded in 1996 as a transitional residence and house of hospitality to provide safe and supportive housing for women and children in the process of moving from emergency shelters to permanent housing.

Center For The Pacific Asian Family is located in Los Angeles, CA and was founded in 1978 to help address domestic violence and sexual assault in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities.

CORA is the only agency in San Mateo County that is solely dedicated to helping those affected by domestic violence. Since 1977 it provides crisis intervention with a 24 hour hotline and an Emergency Response Program. They also have been offering Safe Houses for the past 40 years. PRESENT NOW works with two CORA shelter locations.

Community Resource Center opened in 2004 to provide emergency shelter and transitional housing for women and children fleeing domestic violence. They provide a safe living environment and comprehensive social services to help residents transition to a healthier lifestyle.

Domestic Violence Solutions for Santa Barbara County is working to end the intergenerational cycle of domestic violence by providing prevention and intervention services and by challenging society’s attitudes, beliefs and behaviors to effect change.

Good Shepherd Shelter is a transitional shelter established in 1977 in Los Angeles, CA. They provide a safe, nurturing environment in which mothers and children can heal, reawaken their dignity and self-confidence, and learn the skills that will help them stop the cycle of domestic violence.

Haven Hills, Inc. is a crisis and transitional shelter created in 1977 located in Canoga Park, CA. They offer shelter, crisis intervention counseling and advocacy to victims primarily in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles.

House of Ruth, located in Claremont, CA has been providing lifesaving domestic violence services for residents of eastern Los Angeles and western San Bernardino counties since 1977. Their transitional living program offers case management and other services free of charge for up to two years. PRESENT NOW works with two House of Ruth shelter locations.

Human Options in Orange County, CA has a comprehensive domestic violence program that has been around for over three decades. Pioneers in what they do, they opened the first battered women’s shelter and domestic violence prevention program for teens in high school in 1984. It was the first transitional shelter to open in South Orange County in 1993.

Interface Children and Family Services provides comprehensive family violence programming that aims to prevent, interrupt and end the cycle of violence within family systems. ICFS addresses the complex issues of family violence which can include child abuse, dating and domestic violence. PRESENT NOW works with two Interface shelter locations.

Interval House was founded in 1979 as a lifeline to underserved victims in crisis in Orange County and Los Angeles. The mission of Interval House is to provide safety for those who are battered, abused or at risk and to create public awareness about the epidemic of violence with the intent of ending this recurring phenomenon.

Jenesse Center, Inc. is an emergency and transitional shelter established in 1980 in South Los Angeles, CA to assist mothers and their children who have been the victims of domestic abuse. In a safe and comfortable environment, they afford women the help they need to develop a plan for self-sufficiency.

Jewish Family Services of Los Angeles and Hope Cottage serves homeless families as well as battered women and their children. Their emergency and transitional shelters are staffed by highly qualified professional staff, trained to deal with the unique needs of their clients.

Marjaree Mason Center has been providing emergency and longer-term safe housing for victims of domestic violence in Fresno County, CA since 1979. MMC ensures that victims of domestic violence are provided a safe place to reside while their traumatic situation is addressed. PRESENT NOW works with two Marjaree Mason shelter locations.

Project Sanctuary is a transitional shelter formed in the late 1970’s and is located in Ukiah, CA. Project Sanctuary serves over 2,000 men, women and children in the Mendocino County area each year through a 24-hour crisis hotline, individual counseling, support groups, legal advocacy and prevention education for all ages.

Rainbow Services is an emergency and transitional shelter located in San Pedro, CA. As women work to secure economic resources and permanent housing, Rainbow Services offers up to twelve months of supportive housing, counseling, case management, health and wellness services, and children’s enrichment.

Center for Community Solutions' Project Safehouse is in San Diego, CA. Founded in 1969, this non-profit helps more than 10,000 adults and children heal from and prevent relationship and sexual violence. They provide emergency and transitional shelters to victims and their children, hospital and court accompaniment, and legal and counseling services.

The Sheepfold is located in Orange County, CA and first opened its doors in October, 1979 to serve homeless and abused women with children. In their two-step transitional shelter, women and children affected by domestic violence live in communal environments and then move on to private apartment complexes. PRESENT NOW works with six Sheepfold shelter locations.
Morongo Basin Unity Home is located in Yucca Valley, CA and helps victims of domestic violence and their families move toward independent lives free from abuse. In their transitional housing, their clients are offered services including individual counseling, parenting classes, legal aid, childcare and court support.

Shelter From The Storm is an emergency and transitional shelter founded in 1993 in Palm Desert, CA. It remains Coachella Valley’s only emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence. They provide refuge, counseling, medical care, case management, and on-site schooling for children from pre-school-grade 12.
Women and Children’s Crisis Center is an emergency and transitional shelter founded in 1977 in Whittier, CA. Their program includes a 24-hour hotline for crisis assistance, an emergency 45-day shelter for domestic violence victims, and a 9-month transitional shelter called Stella’s Friendship House.
Urban Resource Institute in New York was founded in 1980 with the intent to help survivors of domestic violence. Their program helps individuals and families escape abuse, safely heal, and gain resources to live healthy lives. URI also has programs to help pets, those with developmental disabilities, victims of crimes, and families facing homelessness. PRESENT NOW works with two URINYC shelter locations.

SU CASA is an emergency and transitional shelter located in Long Beach, CA. Founded by a domestic abuse survivor in 1979, they believe "every individual has the right to live free from violence or the threat of violence." Su Casa has a 24-hour crisis hotline, therapy pets, and a resource center for referrals and planning.
DOVES is the only homeless shelter in Big Bear Valley. It provides a 24 hour hotline, legal assistance and both an emergency and transitional shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. The DOVES transitional program helps prevent homelessness by assisting clients with rent, utilities, childcare and other subsidies.
